About this place
A short turn into a residential street off the road connecting Ryoan-ji and Ninna-ji leads to Coffee FUKUI, a modest kissaten where the pace slows right down. Stepping inside leaves the street traffic behind, offering a calm dining room well suited to resting weary feet while waiting for a warm drink.
For a morning pick-me-up or a light bite, the muffin and toast sets served with salad are a reliable option. The bread menu suits breakfast or a simple lunch, featuring ham or egg muffins, pizza toast, and soft bread rolls paired with ham and egg.
Come afternoon, baked goods take center stage. Cake sets accompanied by whipped cream are made for lingering over, with varieties such as orange cake, matcha cake, and chocolate cake on offer alongside scones. The drink list complements them with classic drip coffee, Einspänner (Wiener coffee), matcha au lait, and spiced ginger tea.
Parking for 3 car is available outside the entrance, and payment is cash only. Run by an approachable husband-and-wife team, this unpretentious neighborhood cafe provides a welcome spot to recharge between visits to nearby temples.
